| Born and raised in Chicago, Athena was taught from a young age to strive for excellence. In 2004 she began a working relationship with the UK’s Royal Shakespeare Company, which still continues to be very strong. From the RSC, she found mentors and teachers who make professional acting, directing, playwriting and arts administration their career. In 2005, Athena started laying the groundwork for her own production company: Aegis Productions. |
Athena splits her time between living in London and the Mojave Desert of the U.S. with her standard poodle. She is currently editing her first book.
Her professional ties remain strong with the RSC, RADA, Sadler’s Wells Theatre and Poisson Rouge Productions. Her professional mentors and collaborative artists include: Anna-Helena McLean, Che Walker, Dominic Cooke, John Schwab, Brigid Panet and Hannah Berrigan.
In September 2010 Stevens was selected for The BBC Talent Boost. She is spending the next six months training with the BBC and the Actor's Centre.
